In Memoriam

Death of Geoff West (Stedham ringer)

It is with great sadness that we have been informed that Geoff West (ringer & former tower captain at Stedham) died on 12th February 2019 after a very short illness

He was a regular member of St James, Stedham having learned to ring in the mid 1960’s under Don Kirk, the school master. He rang his first ¼ peal along side his daughter Gill on 13th February, 1969 and continued as a ringer and as tower captain until well into his 80’s eventually standing down in 2016. He still wound the clock into his old age.

Geoff's funeral will take place at St James Church on Monday 11th March at 12.00.

Pictured here with his Granddaughter Rachel Mahoney (Sussex Young Ringers Captain), this larger than life character will be missed by many. He was an amazing man who gave so much to the association and the art of change ringing. Our thoughts are with Peter's family at this sad time.

Family flowers only please but donations can be made to the MS Society via Paul Bowley Funeral Services.
