Church Bells Ring for #SussexTogether Festival - a Festival of the Arts celebrating the perseverance and hope of the people of Sussex in 2020.

In the early evening of All Souls' Day (2 November) the bells of Chichester Cathedral & Southover Church in Lewes will ring in remembrance of those who have died during the pandemic, to celebrate our endurance as communities through this difficult year, to say ‘thank you’ to key workers and carers and to welcome in the #SussexTogether Festival of Arts 3-14 November 2020.

Because of the restrictions of the Coronavirus crisis, church bell ringing was not possible at all during full lockdown, and even now is very restricted. Captain of Southover bell ringers, Tom Reeves said “This brief fifteen minute ring will be a small symbol of hope for a return to normality, and it’s good to be able to express our gratitude to those who have done so much during the pandemic”
