DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>Eastern District Monthly Practice</strong></p><p><strong>Join us
  for the June event with three towers along the Kent border</strong></p><p>
 The provisional schedule is:</p><ul><li>Ewhurst Green 10:00</li><li>Bodiam 
 11:15</li><li>Lunch</li><li>Northiam 14:30</li></ul><p>We start the day at 
 Ewhurst Green, where this 9½cwt ring of five in the Grade I listed Norman c
 hurch of St James the Great, with its unusual spire.&nbsp; The five bells h
 ere will give a chance to practice your Minimus methods, maybe have a go at
  some Doubles methods with no cover or just enjoy a go at "Weasels".</p><p>
 After Ewhurst Green we move on to Bodiam, where the church of St Giles on t
 he hill above the castle is of uncertain orgin, due to modifications made b
 y in the 19th century.&nbsp; The bells, however, are of a definite date: al
 l six are Mears and Stainbank, cast in 1961, with the tenor weighing in at 
 7cwt.</p><p>Lunch is by own arrangement, however the National Trust tearoom
 s are at the bottom of the hill.</p><p>After lunch we head to Northiam, whe
 re the 11th century church of St Mary awaits, with it's 14cwt ring of 6 hou
 sed in a square tower with a tall, octagonal stone apire on top.&nbsp; Four
  of the bells being Gillet &amp; Johnston from 1914 and the remaing two (th
 e 4th and 5th) being 18th century.</p> <a href="https://www.scacr.org/news-
