Grand Quiz Night, Horsham, 18th November 2006
The inter-divisional quiz night was a sell-out success with over twenty
teams taking part on this cold November evening. The hall was
full and it didn’t take long for everyone to warm up for the
evening ahead.
Ian Hastilow introduced the evening, with Stephen Beckingham from the
Eastern Division taking over as the MC. The questions had
been formulated by the Southern Division and were accompanied by many
scratchings of heads!
Marisa Hayes collected the scores and finally announced the winners
– Taylor’s Eight (Heather MacFarlane-Cryer, Rhona
Gilmour, Nick Cryer, Edna Everest, Robin Green, Karen Williamson)
pictured above collecting their highly-prized chocolate Santas.
It then moved onto the picture round over a dinner. The
jacket potatoes came with a superb variety of fillings and a delicious
choice of puddings, all ably supplied by Val Burgess and the ladies
(and man) from the Northern Division. The raffle, with a
great supply of prizes, was organised by the Western Division and
raised £255.
The Quiz was a great success with all the divisions working together to
provide a very entertaining evening out. Altogether it raised
a total of £700, which went to the Bell Restoration Fund.
