Master

The Master oversees the activities of the Association through the District & Team structure. He/she chairs the formal meetings of the Association including AGMs and General Committee Meetings (GCMs) and may be invited to chair all or part of District and Association Team meetings. He/she submits a report of the Association’s activities to the March GCM for inclusion in the Annual Report and adoption at the AGM. The Master is limited to a three year term of office.

  • Drinks a lot of tea
  • Has the full support of a great General Committee
  • Chairs 2 GCMs (Mar & Nov) & an AGM (May)
  • Gets to eat a lot of cake

Bell Restoration Fund Secretary

The BRF Secretary convenes all meetings of the Bell Maintenance and Restoration Team (currently one a year). He/she liaises with the Diocesan authorities on redundant bells and on work undertaken in the County. He/she submits a report on the activities of the Bell Restoration and Maintenance Team to the March GCM for inclusion in the Annual Report and adoption at the AGM. Got to have an enjoyment of climbing amongst towers and be able to ascend and descend lots of steps. Knowledge of bell maintenance and parts necessary. Is a member of the Finance Committee as well as the General Committee.

Trustee

The Trustees are responsible for all Association funds and for appointing an Independent Examiner of the Accounts. The Association has three Trustees, each of whom holds office for three years. One Trustee retires annually by rotation but remains eligible for re-election. The Trustees get to work closely with and support the Treasurer, attend one Finance Meeting a year, two GCMs and the AGM. We currently have one vacancy.

Eastern District CC Rep

Reflecting our sizeable membership, Sussex can send a maximum of 5 CC Representatives, and when elected they serve for a three year period. Each District has a CC Rep representing their views on the future of bellringing nationwide. This is an exciting time to join as the Central Council is going through a period of change – fancy being a part of the future?

Training & Recruitment Team Leader

Training & Recruitment is such a hot topic at the moment and we desperately could do with a Team Leader. Our members want training at all levels – could you co-ordinate some training sessions? This is the year of recruitment at a nationwide level – the Ringing Remembers campaign - could you oversee enquiries coming in and spearhead a drive of our own?
